Single Ortho-Bionomy sessions focus on individual physical needs and goals. Classes also involve individual bodywork, but focus more on education and active practice of techniques. Both sessions and classes empower clients through teaching of the fundamentals of Ortho-Bionomy.
Sessions
The first step is to discuss your problem areas, needs, history and goals. I use this information to determine how to proceed. I then begin work on priority areas of the body, using verbal cues and physical indicators to judge progress. I find the best joint and muscle “release” positions and use gentle movement in the area, holding for up to one minute.
Classes - beginner
The typical beginner class provides a full exploration of Ortho-Bionomy’s foundations. It covers history, philosophy, principles and beginning techniques. The class provides an overview of the basic release techniques for each major joint in the body. It demonstrates movements and positions of comfort to facilitate the release of muscular tension and stress by stimulating the self-correcting reflexes of the body. This teaches the body to create structural alignment and balance from within.
Upon successful completion of this class, you will be able to comfortably and confidently approach the body, using Ortho-Bionomy techniques to address problems from simple misalignment and discomfort to major injury. You will understand the differences between Ortho-Bionomy and other forms of bodywork and the ways Ortho-Bionomy complements other aspects of a regular health routine.
Classes – advanced
I offer a selection of advanced classes, based on client needs and goals. Please contact me to discuss the possibilities.
